Balanced Audio Technology staked its reputation on the fact that “balanced is
better” when balanced wasn’t cool. Today, balanced circuits have become the de
facto standard in high-end audio design. Yet, achieving the proper balance in
circuit design remains elusive to our competition. For example, in a world of
preamplifiers populated by multiple gain stages and cathode-follower circuits,
Balanced Audio Technology offers its Unistage design. This Unistage circuit is
employed in all of our preamplifiers—from the VK-33 Series to the reference REX
II preamplifier. Its benefit pertains to the ultimate simplicity of amplifying
the incoming signal only once, with no global feedback to double-back on the
straight-through integrity of said signal. Imagine telling a joke to your
friends and saying, “pass it on.” Pass it on enough times and you won’t

Keeping everything easy for customers extends to our intelligent
automatic-biasing circuit, included on every BAT vacuum-tube power amplifier.

beginning of the new millennium, Balanced Audio Technology introduced the world

tube designs. Yet, no company will ever have more experience in the proper

detail in the quietest passages. TWO MASSIVE TOROIDAL POWER TRANSFORMERS-SAME AS
THOSE IN FLAGSHIP REX II Built for decades of enjoyment, the VK-P6 uses the same
heavy-duty chassis as BAT’s top-of-the-line products. Its dual-mono topology
starts with two massive toroidal power transformers—the same parts used in BAT's
flagship REX II preamplifier. From there, the power goes to massive energy
storage reserves worthy of many power amplifiers. The meticulous layout of the
large circuit board provides the shortest-possible signal path. And the ten-tube
topology is derived from that found in the VK-P12 phonostage. Upgraded signal
capacitors are used throughout. Aesthetically, the industrial design seamlessly
blends with all components—particularly those of the BAT family. And, true to
BAT tradition, VK-P6 is fully upgradeable to the VK-P6SE. YOUR LPs WILL FINALLY

network, permitting ease of adjustment and improved common mode noise rejection.
Completely passive, this circuit has fewer components than a more traditional
implementation. The benefits translate into improved matching of the RIAA curve
to specification. With the BAT Flying RIAA network, you can be assured that all
of your records sound the way that the recording engineer intended. Vacuum-tube
current sources further improve the linearity and yield a more open, textured

ENERGY RESERVES HANDLE ANY CARTRIDGE Low-output moving-coil cartridges are a
forte of VK-P12. Most are easily handled easily by the phonostage’s direct mode.
High-quality, built-in step-up transformers can be either used for cartridges
with even lower output or to obtain an even lower noise flow. Internal switches
allow you to adjust cartridge loading for capacitance and resistance, and
provide low and high settings for preamplifier gain. Signal polarity is
effortlessly changed via a front-panel balanced phase reversal switch. And you’ll
never worry about energy. The VK-P12’s energy reserves exponentially exceed
those found in competing products. By most any measure, this phonostage could be
a sizeable power amplifier. Want more? Per BAT tradition, VK-P12 is fully
upgradeable to the SE and SuperPak versions. SUPERLATIVE BUILD QUALITY,
